Water is the medium through which every nutrient travels from soil to root. Without adequate moisture, even nutrient-rich soil becomes inaccessible to plants — roots simply cannot absorb dissolved minerals from dry particles.

What happens when soil runs dry

Wilting & leaf curl

Leaves lose turgor pressure and curl inward to reduce surface area and water loss — often the first visible sign.

Stunted root growth

Roots stop elongating in dry soil, reducing the plant's ability to forage for both water and nutrients.

Nutrient lockout

Even if fertiliser is present, dry soil prevents dissolution — nutrients sit inert and unusable.

Flower & fruit drop

Under water stress, plants abort flowers and immature fruit to conserve resources for survival.
